Chloe’s gone to the dogs!
I’ve always been fond of dogs, especially working dogs, and A Boy and his Dog is the second novel that features one: Mojo is a bomb-detecting dog, and in Hard Truths, one does some tracking. In addition to the detection that dogs can do for drugs, bombs, and contraband, they have also been shown to identify illness in others, like impending seizures, and they can identify cancer in tissue samples. Other categories of working dogs include guide dogs, draft animals like sled dogs, herding dogs, guard dogs, military and police dogs, search and rescue dogs, and therapy dogs. The bond between man and dog goes back over 30,000 years, much longer than that of any other animal. I hope you enjoy A Boy and his Dog!
